Nick and I made this blog months ago so I guess it’s about time one of us updated this thing. I figured I’d be the first to do it. Sorry Nick.
Hopefully you’ve read the”About Me” section of our blog so you know which sports/teams Nick and I follow.
Lots of things have happened in the world of sports lately. Lets cover some of the basics, shall we?
1. The New York Giants upset the New England Patriots to win SuperBowl XLII. Quarterback Eli Manning’s late 4th quarter pass to David Tyree will forever be remembered as one of the greatest catches in NFL history.
2. Brett Favre announces his retirement from the Green Bay Packers. [Personally, this shocked me. I was certain that he would come back another season, especially after coming so close to the SuperBowl.]
3. Dale Earnhardt Jr. leaves his fathers company, Dale Earanhardt Inc., and moves to enemy lines for Dale Jr. fans, Hendrick Motor Sports. 1/3 of the way into the season and he has yet to win a race. The last race he win was at Richmond in 2006.
4. Going further back in time, Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez opts out and opts back into his New York Yankee contract.
5. Pitcher Johan Santana was traded to the New York Mets by the Minnesota Twins. Johan’s pitched great for the Mets, but his velocity is down, which is something the Mets need to keep an eye on for the next few years.
6. The Boston Red Sox crush the Colorodo Rockies in the World Series. 3B Mike Lowell won MVP.
Those are a few of some of the biggest stories. I’ll have to update this again after the NBA finals pretty soon. But for now, later!
